Dabo Swinney has ‘zero doubt’ there will be college football in 2020
There has been some talk about both the professional and college football seasons starting later than usual or being canceled altogether, but Dabo Swinney is convinced America’s favorite sport is not going to be called off for an entire calendar year.
When asked on Friday about the potential of the coronavirus outbreak leading to the cancellation of the college football season, Swinney says he has “zero doubt” Clemson and other teams will be playing in the fall.
Dabo Swinney about preference for 2020 season re abbreviated or being pushed back:
"I have zero doubt we are going to play…. This is America, man. This is the greatest country in the planet. We will rise up and kick this in the teeth. September is a long time away, man."

Swinney also said that with all the incredible things that have been accomplished in the United States over the years, he cannot envision the coronavirus pandemic lingering to the point where sporting events in September would be in jeopardy.
Dabo Swinney says Americans have stormed the beaches of Normandy, put man on the moon and created an iPhone. Says this is the greatest country in the history of the universe. Has no doubt football will play, says he's excited to see Death Valley rocking.

A lot of people have made predictions about how the coronavirus outbreak will impact sports going forward, and the reality is all of those predictions are premature. Health experts aren’t even sure of how long restrictions will be in place, so people like Kirk Herbsreit are just guessing.
What we do know is that several sports leagues are still hoping to finish their seasons, and one of them may even have a start date in mind. If those leagues are able to resume, that would be a good sign for football. But as of now, we simply do not know what the immediate future holds.
