Colorado lost to Kansas 37-21 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., on Saturday, and Deion Sanders thinks he knows why.
The Buffaloes let the Jayhawks rush for 331 yards and 3 touchdowns on 57 carries. By contrast, Colorado rushed for just 42 yards on 13 carries. Sanders spoke with the media after his team’s defeat and pointed to Kansas’ physicality as the deciding factor.
“We could not stop the bleeding. That’s hats off to them, they were physical. They were more physical than us. They outplayed us. They wanted it a lot more than we did,” Sanders said after the game.

The 57-year-old coach, who is in his second season at Colorado, believes his team had lost its focus.
“Not one of you can say you played your best game, nobody here can say they played good. See the problem is you guys are intoxicated with success,” Sanders said to his team.

Colorado was 8-2 entering the game, which had them ranked No. 16. Perhaps they were overconfident and overlooked the Jayhawks, who entered the game 4-6.
The big problem is Colorado got pushed around and could not stop Kansas’ running game, just as Sanders said.
