Four Jacksonville Jaguars players were arrested ahead of the team’s game in London Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles over a bill at a club.
The Sun says that some members of the Jaguars partied at London Reign Showclub and got into a confrontation with bouncers who prevented them from leaving. The players were accused of trying to skip out on their bill, which was said to be in the neighborhood of £50,000.
“Things got pretty heated and there was a lot of swearing and shouting and things became physical,” a source told The Sun.
The players reportedly spent nine hours in custody before being released. The club dropped charges after the bill was finally settled.
The Jaguars issued a statement in response to the report.
Just got statement from @Jaguars on incident here in London @ActionNewsJax @ActionSportsJax “We are aware that 4 of our players were detained over restitution of a bill. The matter is being resolved and the players are with the team. Any discipline will be handled internally.”

The Jaguars are 3-4 this season and have lost three in a row, being outscored 60-14 in their last two games. Players were even fighting in the locker room after their latest loss.
They are facing a huge game; if they lose and drop to 3-5, they can probably kiss their playoff hopes goodbye. Quarterback Blake Bortles is expected to be on a short leash for the game.
