Former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord is reportedly swapping out the Buckeyes’ red for some Syracuse Orange next season.
McCord is committing to Syracuse, according to a report from Syracuse.com’s Brent Axe state. The report stated that an official announcement from the football program could come as early as Sunday.

McCord entered the transfer portal earlier this month after being dissatisfied with his standing at Ohio State.
Earlier reports linked McCord to a different Power Five school before word came out that the 21-year-old decided to go a different direction. Those reports emerged simultaneously with word that McCord may opt to commit to Syracuse instead.
McCord threw for 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns in 12 games with the Buckeyes this season.
McCord would be a clear QB upgrade over departing senior Garrett Shrader. Syracuse’s QB1 for the 2023 season threw for 1,686 yards with 13 touchdowns and 6 interceptions across 11 games.
Syracuse will enter a new era in 2024 following the firing of longtime head coach Dino Babers. The Orange had just 2 winning seasons in the 8 years that Babers coached the team from 2016 to 2023.
With a new quarterback and head coach for the 2024 campaign, Syracuse will look to make some orange-colored waves next season.
