LSU gets a fairly big name to replace Dave Aranda, who left the role to take the head coaching job at Baylor. Pelini, who has coached FCS Youngstown State since 2015, is no stranger to the school, having served as the team’s defensive coordinator under Les Miles from 2005-2007.
Pelini has been the leading candidate for this role seemingly since it opened up. He brings an experienced hand to a defense that will expect to be spearheading a national title contender in 2020.
