Mississippi State is said to be offering Orgeron $900,000 a year.
Orgeron is entering the second year of his contract with LSU, where he is paid $450,000 a year as the Tigers’ defensive line coach.
Orgeron is a coach in demand. USC was also pursuing him and trying to get him back with the Trojans, where he once served as interim head coach. Orgeron previously held a 3-year stint as head coach at Ole Miss, where he went 10-25 but loaded up the Rebels with talent through his ferocious recruiting.
