The Oregon Ducks got a touchdown that should not have counted on Saturday thanks to some very strange officiating.
Quarterback Dillon Gabriel seemingly linked up with wide receiver Evan Stewart for a two-yard score during the first quarter of the Ducks’ game against Michigan at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. Replay clearly showed, however, that the ball hit the ground before Stewart was able to secure it, and the pass should have been incomplete.

For whatever reason, the play was not reviewed, and the Michigan sideline seemingly did not spot it until it was too late. CBS only showed the above replay after the extra point had been kicked, which may have contributed to the confusion. Still, the video makes it clear that the line judge was looking directly at the play from a perfect angle and still went with the touchdown call.
It has been a rough few weeks for officials missing clear and obvious calls in the end zone. This one, however, was reviewable, and it is baffling that nobody seemed to notice the drop until it was too late to do anything about it.
