Alvin Kamara demanded a redo on his terrible first pitch at Cubs game

Alvin Kamara throwing a first pitch

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was determined not to join the ranks of embarrassing ceremonial first pitches at Saturday’s Chicago Cubs game.

Kamara was enlisted to throw out the first pitch prior to the Cubs-Cardinals game at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Il. on Saturday. His first attempt was brutal, as he essentially spiked the first one halfway between home plate and the batters’ box.

Normally, that is where things would end, but Kamara was not going to accept that. He demanded that Clark the Cub, the team’s mascot, grant him a redo, and his wish was granted.

Kamara’s second try still wasn’t a strike, but at least he did not bounce it that time.

As long as people remember his second attempt more than they do his first, Kamara should be fine. Plus, there is a pretty good argument that he did not even produce the worst ceremonial first pitch Wrigley Field has seen this week.

Even though the second try was better, Kamara will presumably be sticking to his day job. He tallied 1,493 total yards last season with eight touchdowns for the Saints, and more importantly, he did not have to make any throws himself to accomplish that.
