Baker Mayfield blasts reporter over Kyler Murray criticism
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield continues to stand up to reporters he thinks are off base while defending former Oklahoma teammate Kyler Murray.
Mayfield caught wind of comments by ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi, who said Murray would be more reminiscent of failed quarterback Johnny Manziel than Mayfield. The current Browns quarterback didn’t take that well, and heavily shaded Grossi on Twitter.
He also said he would retire if the Browns drafted me. So does anything he say have truth to it? Couldn’t be more any more wrong. There is no comparison to even be made about Kyler. He’s a winner and if you don’t see that, something is wrong with you.

This is actually not the first time Mayfield has called out Grossi. It’s safe to say he doesn’t have a lot of patience for this sort of thing, and it’s actually sort of refreshing to see.
