Report: Bears still have ‘serious confidence’ in Mitchell Trubisky
You could easily make the argument that Mitchell Trubisky has prevented the Chicago Bears from becoming a legitimate Super Bowl contender over the past few seasons, but the team is apparently not considering moving on from its former first-round pick.
The Bears still have “serious confidence” in Trubisky, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. Head coach Matt Nagy and the rest of the organization recognize that Chicago’s issues on offense extend well beyond the quarterback position.

Trubisky was forced to leave last week’s game against the Los Angeles Rams because of a hip injury. There was initially speculation that he had been benched for poor performance, but Nagy and the Bears quickly put that to rest. Trubisky later opened up about the injury and is expected to start against the New York Giants on Sunday.
If nothing else, Trubisky has not proven he was worthy of being taken with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft. He has thrown for over 200 yards in just four games this season and has nine touchdowns compared to four interceptions. The Bears’ offense simply lacks explosiveness, and Trubisky is a big reason for that.
