The Chicago Bears are expected to hire John Fox as their next head coach, according to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report.
While Cole notes that Fox has yet to sign a contract with the team and that there are still some details being sorted out, a league source is confident the Bears have found their man.
In addition, Cole speculates that Fox’s hire means Jay Cutler will not be traded.
“The obvious indication here is that the positive attitude of John Fox will work well with Cutler,” Cole said.
Before Marc Trestman was fired, there were some rumblings about the Bears possibly looking into trading Cutler after the season. Fox has been known for getting the most out of players. After all, he did win a playoff game with Tim Tebow as his quarterback.
No one should be surprised that Fox found a new job so quickly, just as we should not be surprised he’s heading to Chicago. As LB explained in detail earlier this week, Fox seems like an ideal fit for the Bears.
