Bills fans had awesome show of support for Tyler Bass
Buffalo Bills fans were in disbelief when Tyler Bass badly missed what would have been a game-tying field goal on Sunday night, but many of them are going out of their way to support the kicker.
The Bills were trailing 27-24 with 1:47 left in their Divisional Round playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Highmark Stadium. Bass attempted a 44-yard field goal that would have tied the game, but he pushed it badly wide right.
Naturally, there has been backlash. Some fans probably took the criticism too far, which may be why Bass deactivated all of his social media accounts. Others made the most of a bad situation by flooding Bass’ charity, the Ten Lives Club, with donations.
Bass started the Ten Lives Club with a goal of reducing the number of cats without homes that are euthanized each year. According to WBEN’s Brayton J. Wilson, the foundation received more than $100,000 in donations from Sunday to Tuesday afternoon.
UPDATE: @tenlivesclub has now received more than $100,000 of donations from #BillsMafia in support of Tyler Bass. They received a recent donation of $5,000 from @TitosVodka to get them over the $100,000 mark. Incredible. #Bills https://t.co/KAv49uQj5x

Even if Bass converted the field goal, Patrick Mahomes would have gotten the ball back with plenty of time left in a 27-27 game. It is hardly a guarantee that the Bills would have won. Still, Bass said after the game that the blame for the loss should be placed solely on him.
This is not the first time Bills Mafia has flooded a player’s charity with donations. They have even done it for opponents in the past.
