Brandon Spikes has not played in the NFL since he was with the Buffalo Bills in 2016, but the free agent linebacker is not yet ready to call it a career. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like an opportunity awaits.
Spikes worked out with the Detroit Lions earlier this week, and there was some speculation that he might be a fit there since he played under Matt Patricia with the New England Patriots. However, Mike Silver of NFL.com reports that the Lions have no plans to sign Spikes.

Spikes recently turned 31 and was a step slow in his final season with the Bills, so it’s no surprise there has been no market for him. He has also gotten into some trouble off the field, making him even less worth signing.
