Brett Favre is taking note of Jordan Love’s cool gesture for him.

The current Green Bay Packers starting quarterback Love went viral before Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings for his choice of attire. Love showed up wearing a Favre-Packers jersey for the game at Lambeau Field (see here).

Favre reacted to the tribute in a post to his X page.

“Big respect to @jordan3love for wearing this old man’s jersey,” Favre wrote. “I didn’t think I could like Jordan anymore until this morning.”

Love and the Packers would go on to lose a tough one to the Vikings by the final score of 31-29 (with Love throwing three interceptions though also four TDs). After the defeat, Favre offered a message of encouragement for Love.

“Dear Jordan,” said Favre. “Just a reminder that one game, one play, or one pass doesn’t define you. Way to show resilience today. You have a long career ahead. Just keep going forward. #4.”

Love’s tribute to Favre was especially significant in light of recent news. The 54-year-old Favre, who was Green Bay’s QB from 1992-2007 and led them to victory in Super Bowl XXXI, revealed last week a difficult health update.

Favre will likely remain an unpopular figure on the national stage due to the $1.1 million he allegedly received in welfare funds from his home state of Mississippi for speeches he never gave (though Favre has since reportedly repaid the money). But within the fraternity of Packers quarterbacks, Favre clearly has a strong relationship with the 25-year-old Love.
