Broncos staff reportedly requested Baker Mayfield for Senior Bowl

A report Friday indicated that the Broncos had explicitly requested the Oklahoma quarterback be put on the team the Broncos’ staff is coaching at Jan. 27’s game.

Interesting thing @SeniorBowlPhil just told me and @HorowitzJason on @ESPNUonSiriusXM: The Broncos staff requested that Baker Mayfield be placed on their team at the Senior Bowl.

This could mean nothing or a whole lot of things. The Broncos have the No. 5 pick and are very much in need of a quarterback. Mayfield is expected to be a first-round pick. They may wish to get a good look at both his skills and his demeanor, as Mayfield faced maturity questions during his time with the Sooners.
