The Cleveland Browns were reportedly looking to trade Josh Gordon before the star wide receiver announced last Thursday that he has checked himself into a rehab facility.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns were “actively” shopping Gordon to other teams and were looking for either a first- or second-round draft pick in return. Cleveland had reportedly had discussions about Gordon with other teams as recently as last week.
As expected, any potential trade value Gordon had has disappeared. While the 25-year-old only said he is entering rehab to “gain full control of my life,” a report from Sunday gave us a better idea of why Gordon made the decision.
It’s unclear if and when Gordon will return to the NFL, but it appears his career with the Browns is all but over.
