Few enjoyed Brock Purdy’s Christmas Day dud more than the artist formerly known as Superman.
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback Purdy put the P-U in his last name with a horrific outing on Monday against the Baltimore Ravens. Purdy threw a career-high four interceptions with zero touchdowns as Baltimore coasted to a 33-19 victory over San Francisco. The performance was so dreadful that Purdy got meme’d to Jupiter on social media.
Former NFL MVP Cam Newton got in on the fun as well with a petty post to his X account. After Purdy threw another pick against the Ravens, Newton posted several monocle emojis (used to indicate careful consideration of what is in front of you).

You may recall that Newton had downplayed Purdy as a mere “game manager” rather than an MVP candidate in some recent podcast comments that went viral. While Purdy’s disasterclass against the Ravens was just one game, Newton clearly felt pretty vindicated by it.
Granted, Newton still has a long way to go to truly be proven right. In the same podcast, he also took some swipes at other NFL QBs who are doing pretty well for themselves right about now.
