Cam Newton wears ‘Rosie the Riveter’ button supporting women
Cam Newton is working hard to repair his relationship with women after his PR disaster during the week.
The Carolina Panthers quarterback held a sexist attitude towards a female reporter who asked him a football question at a press conference during the week. He was criticized for his attitude towards the woman and even lost a sponsorship. A day later, he apologized.
Now he’s taking the apology a step further.
Newton was seen wearing a “Rosie the Riveter” button in his hat as he prepared for his team’s flight to Detroit for Sunday’s game against the Lions:

Rosie the Riveter was a symbol during World War II of the women who stepped up to fill major roles in the industrial workplace replacing of men who were fighting the war. Rosie the Riveter is regarded as a symbol of feminism and the power of women.
