Carson Wentz has bruise on throwing hand, not expected to miss time

Carson Wentz

Carson Wentz suffered a hand injury during Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks that appeared to cause him some discomfort, but the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback is not in danger of missing a game because of it.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson told reporters on Monday that Wentz has a bruise on the middle finger of his throwing hand and is considered day-to-day.

Wentz was grabbing his hand after a fumble in the third quarter on a botched running play. The Eagles quarterback made a tackle after the fumble, which may have been when he got hurt. He remained in the game after being examined by the medical staff.

The Eagles will be looking to get back on track in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins after suffering back-to-back home losses to the Seahawks and New England Patriots. While they have been inconsistent at best this season, they are just one game behind the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East.

Wentz threw two interceptions on Sunday and has just five touchdown passes over his last five games. Both he and Philly’s offense as a whole need to improve down the stretch if they want to remain alive in the playoff hunt.
