Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett will be out for the season after opting for knee surgery, according to a report.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter says Verrett will undergo surgery and be placed on IR.

Verrett is coming back from a torn ACL and missed the team’s Week 2 game because of his knee.
Verrett, a first-round pick in 2014, is a strong cover corner, so losing him is a tough break for the Chargers’ defense.
Trevor Williams and Casey Hayward will serve as the team’s corners with Verrett out.
