Chiefs make significant change to Rashee Rice’s status
Rashee Rice has kept his distance from the Kansas City Chiefs since he was arrested in March, but the wide receiver is officially back in the building.
Rice will attend organized team activities with the Chiefs this week and take part in all aspects of the program, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

Rice had previously been participating in meetings and workouts virtually, so that marks a major change. It is also somewhat surprising given everything that has happened with Rice this offseason.
Rice is facing eight felony charges over his alleged role in a multi-vehicle car accident that took place in March. Rice was allegedly racing another car down the freeway at a high rate of speed and lost control of his vehicle, causing a crash that resulted in multiple injuries (see the video here). Rice and several others fled the scene.
Two weeks ago, Rice was accused of hitting a photographer outside a nightclub in Dallas, Texas. The 24-year-old is being investigated over that alleged incident, and the details sound troubling.
Rice is also facing multiple civil lawsuits related to the crash. The Chiefs are said to be bracing for a significant suspension for their wide receiver, but they are allowing him to work out with the team in the meantime.
