Just when it looked like Colin Kaepernick was going to end up back with the San Francisco 49ers, news emerges suggesting otherwise.
According to NFL Media’s Rand Getlin, Kaepernick’s agents have asked the 49ers to seek a trade:

There has been a mix of reports about whether or not the Niners would want to keep Kaepernick after hiring Chip Kelly as their new head coach. They said this week they planned to keep him and have him compete with Blaine Gabbert for the starting job.
Why would Kaepernick’s agents want to seek a trade? They probably have been talking with some teams who want the QB as their starter and therefore want to drive him towards one of those situations. Teams like the Browns and Texans could use QBs, and we know new Cleveland head coach Hue Jackson is a fan. Perhaps that sentiment was expressed to Kaep’s people and they’re trying to engineer a move.
