Colin Kaepernick covers logo on Beats by Dre headphones
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was fined $10,000 last week after he wore Beats by Dre headphones during his postgame press conference. The NFL recently reached an audio deal with Bose and banned Beats by Dre products from appearing on television as a result. That doesn’t mean Kaepernick is going to stop wearing them.
Kaepernick, who has an endorsement deal with Beats by Dre, still wore the same pink headphones to his interview Monday night but covered the Beats logos with tape.
It’s unclear if the league can still fine Kaepernick for wearing the headphones without the logo showing. Before you start calling him an immature punk, remember that even Tom Brady has covered up an apparel logo during his postgame press conference for business reasons. These guys care about their endorsement deals and don’t want the league telling them what to do.
