Daniel Jones had a 6-word message for his doubters

Daniel Jones led the Indianapolis Colts to yet another impressive win on Sunday, and the veteran had a great message for his naysayers after the game.

Jones has enjoyed a career resurgence through his first seven games with the Colts. The team’s latest triumph was a 38-24 Week 7 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. Jones had another excellent game, finishing 23/34 for 288 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions.

During an interview with CBS reporter Evan Washburn after the game, Jones was asked what people should know about the 2025 Colts that they did not know before the season began.

“Sounds like y’all didn’t know much,” Jones said. “We’re just gonna keep going and keep working. We have a lot of confidence. We have a lot of good players, guys who work hard and do the right things.”

Jones was also asked how confident he is feeling in his own game. He said he is “very confident” and spoke about the job Shane Steichen and the Colts head coach’s staff have done in preparing the team each week.

“We’re trying to execute at a high level. I think we’re prepared going in. The coaches have done a great job of game-planning and getting us ready, and we’ve executed,” Jones said. “I think the guys up front have played great. We’ve been able to run it. We’ve been able to throw it. There’s stuff to work on but, yeah, something to build on.”

Jones was benched for poor play with the New York Giants last season and then granted his release. The Colts signed him during the offseason and gave him an opportunity to battle with Anthony Richardson for a starting job, and Jones won that competition. It is easy to see why after seven games.

The Colts are 6-1 and look like the best team in the AFC. Jones is tied for fifth in the NFL with 1,790 passing yards. He has a 105.9 passer rating, which is significantly better than he had in any of his six seasons with the Giants.

Jones has every right to call out the critics who were convinced he would not be part of the solution in Indy.
