If you believe in spiritual connection and are intrigued but Tim Tebow’s religious faith, this is a story for you. As we all know, Tebow was traded to the Jets earlier this week after it appeared as though he may head back home to Florida. Instead, he reportedly chose New York over Jacksonville, where he is currently a backup but may believe he can win the starting job. Many of us were surprised when the Jets acquired Tebow, but on Friday a reverend in Brooklyn claimed at the funeral of Russell Francis that the now-deceased Jets fan knew it was coming. From the NY Daily News:
Before succumbing to lung cancer last Saturday, Francis peered into the future and declared that Tebow, the righteous but left-handed NFL quarterback, would soon be a Jet.
Francis, who was 44, did not live long enough to see his prediction come true.
But Francis knew, the preacher told his flock, that Tebow has what it takes to lead Gang Green to football’s Promised Land, the Super Bowl.
Francis believed, according to Rev. Mark Taylor, that the Jets needed “the right quarterback who can look down the field.” Tebow will need to get a chance to start before that can happen, but we’ve already seen some brilliant things happen in his young career. I suppose anything is possible.
