DeSean Jackson to wear custom ‘I Can’t Breathe’ cleats
DeSean Jackson is looking to join the list of professional and collegiate athletes who have expressed support for Eric Garner before or during games. On Thursday, Jackson posted a photo of a pair of cleats with the message “I Can’t Breathe” stenciled across the top of them. He said he intends to wear them during Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Here’s what Jackson wrote on Instagram along with the photo you see above:

Last month, Nike warned NFL players that any customization of Nike footwear will be viewed as a violation of the Nike Football Contract and could result in termination. One NFL player already wrote “I Can’t Breathe” across his cleats last weekend in small letters, while Reggie Bush displayed the message across his shirt in warmups.
