DeShone Kizer says he has ‘become a lot better’ since being drafted
It’s safe to say that the Cleveland Browns didn’t quote expect DeShone Kizer to be starting as a rookie when they drafted him, but that is exactly what has happened.
Kizer has heard the criticisms, though, and he feels that he has improved as a quarterback since the day he was drafted, saying Monday that he has “become a lot better” since April.
“Obviously going out and performing in preseason games is one thing, but to perform in games is another,” Kizer said, via Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk. “Until I’m out there, everyone’s gonna have a right to have an opinion. If that’s their opinion, we’ll see Week One.”
Kizer originally wasn’t meant to start right away, with even his college coach Brian Kelly saying he felt Kizer would have been better served staying in school. He’s proving a lot of people wrong.
