Dolphins CB has great reaction to Tyreek Hill trade
The addition of Tyreek Hill should prove to be a big help for the Miami Dolphins, but there is just one downside — at least for one player.
Cornerback Byron Jones signed a 5-year, $82.5 million contract with the Dolphins two years ago. On Friday, he agreed to restructure his contract to help save the team around $10 million in cap space for this season.
The Dolphins converted $13.255M of CB Byron Jones’ base salary into a signing bonus, creating $10.604M in 2022 cap space, per source.
The team also added $750K in cap space by reworking the contract of S Clayton Fejedelem.
With some major recent adds, Miami needed flexibility.

So, what was Jones’ reward for helping the team out by restructuring his contract? He gets to cover Hill in practice each day!
Me restructuring my contract just to have Tyreek Hill burn me everyday in practice 🤡🤡

Yes, that will make practice tougher for Jones. But you know what they say: iron sharpens iron. Maybe going against Hill will force Jones to improve his game.
