Eagles coach sees ‘a little hesitation’ in Carson Wentz

Carson Wentz

With a little over a month to go before the start of the NFL season, Carson Wentz still appears to have some progress to make.

Speaking with NBC Sports’ Peter King over the weekend, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said that he sees “a little hesitation” in his star quarterback, who was recently cleared for 11-on-11 drills in training camp. Pederson did add that he was encouraged overall though, especially with Wentz taking on a heavy workload in practice.

“I think that’s natural,” Pederson was quoted as saying about Wentz. “It’s more about his head than his knee right now.”

Wentz, who tore his left ACL nearly eight months ago, generally seems to be trending the right way. He was originally expected to begin camp on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list but managed to avoid that designation.

A recent report also suggested that the 25-year-old is on track for Week 1, and he should have ample to time to get his legs back underneath him before then.
