Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho will be going to a high school prom this year — all because he was skeptical that an Eagles fan could rack up more than 10,000 retweets.
It all started when Hannah Delmonte sent Acho a direct message on Instagram. The high schooler asked Acho if he would accompany her to prom if she could get 2,000 retweets. Acho took the time to respond and upped the stakes to 10,000.

Within hours, the tweet went viral. Delmonte shared the screenshot at around 5:00 p.m on Thursday, and she currently has 15,500 retweets and counting. To his credit, Acho sounds like he intends to honor his word.

Acho should have known that all it takes is one crucial retweet or a post on a well-known blog and something can go viral almost instantly. While it will be tough for Acho’s experience to top our favorite prom story, we commend him for following through.
