Report: Eric Berry expected to be healthy, draw ‘significant’ interest
Eric Berry has been one of the best defensive backs in football throughout his career when healthy, and there is little reason to believe he will have trouble finding work now that the Kansas City Chiefs have moved on from him.
Berry has appeared in just three regular season games over the past two years because of injuries, the latest of which was to his heel. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Berry recently saw a specialist about his foot injury and was informed he will not need surgery and should be able to manage it. That is one of the reasons the five-time Pro Bowler is expected to draw “significant” interest on the free agent market.
From @gmfb, former #Chiefs S Eric Berry was told he should be able to play with the ankle condition that sidelined him last year. The questions about Berry’s medicals could take a bit to answer but there should be significant immediate interest. pic.twitter.com/G1kACME6ND

In addition to the heel injury last year, Berry tore his Achilles just one game into the 2017 season. He also beat lymphoma back in 2014.
Berry turned 30 in December, and signing him will obviously come with plenty of risks. That could keep the price down and make him a low-risk, high-reward type of addition.
