Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones does not exactly appear to be smoothing things over ahead of his Sunday reunion with Micah Parsons.
Parsons will face the Cowboys for the first time as a visitor on Sunday when the Green Bay Packers come to town. As a result, Jones has talked plenty about Parsons to the media this week, but a comment he made Friday might be his most clueless one yet.
In an appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas on Friday, Jones downplayed the need to create an entire gameplan to stifle Parsons.
“While he does make great plays, there is also a way to approach playing against Micah. As we know, we didn’t exactly win the Super Bowl those years,” Jones said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic.
Many social media users were left shaking their heads at the comment. While it is true that the Cowboys did not win a Super Bowl after drafting Parsons in 2021, many pointed out that they failed to win one in the previous 25 years, and that Jones bears the blame for that.

You haven't been to the NFC championship game since 1996, Jerry Joooooones. Is that on Micah as well 😂😂😂😂😂😂
"We didnt exactly win the SB in those years" ….. or many of the others. Or ANY of the others this millennium, Jerry.

Using Jerry's same logic, we haven't exactly won the Super Bowl with him as the GM in the last 30 years…

Jones cannot seem to help himself. Since trading Parsons to the Packers, he has adamantly claimed that the trade will make his team better both now and in the future. That has not played out so far, as the Cowboys are just 1-2 and coming off an ugly loss to the Chicago Bears.
Parsons tallied 52.5 sacks in just four seasons with Dallas. The Cowboys did not win a Super Bowl with him, but he certainly was not the reason they failed to do that.
