Four teams put in claim on Terrell Suggs
Four teams weren’t bothered by chatter that Terrell Suggs might not report if he was claimed on waivers by any other team than the Baltimore Ravens.
In addition to the Kansas City Chiefs, who were awarded Suggs on waivers, the New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks all put in claims on the defensive lineman.
This is interesting: Four teams attempted to claim pass-rusher Terrell Suggs — #Saints, #49ers, #Seahawks, and #Chiefs. And the #Ravens may have signed him if he was free.

The Ravens did not claim Suggs, but it’s somewhat immaterial. He would have become a free agent if no one claimed him, and the Ravens were the last team in the claiming order, so they could have just signed him.
All four teams are major Super Bowl contenders looking for pass rushing help. It doesn’t appear that any of these claims were simply efforts to ensure that Suggs didn’t get to Baltimore, as every team involved could very much claim to need him. The Chiefs got him, and now we wait to see if he’ll report.
