The Colts announced on Friday Reggie Wayne would not return for his 15th season with the franchise, bringing to an end his tenure with the only team he’s known since being drafted in 2001. Later that day, Indianapolis Power & Light Company honored him by lighting its windows blue in the form of Wayne’s uniform No. 87.

Wayne leaves the Colts as the franchise leader in regular season games played (211) and is second in receptions (1,070), receiving yards (14,345), and receiving touchdowns (80).

“Everyone knows the greatness and history associated with number 87,” [general manager Ryan] Grigson said in a statement via the Indianapolis Star. “He truly is one of a small handful of players who really define the Colts as an organization.”

Now 36, Wayne had previously indicated he would not want to play for another organization. However, NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported on Saturday Wayne may be willing to suit up for one more year should a contender request his services.
