Jaguars place star defender on injured reserve
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ season appears to be going from bad to worse.
The Jaguars announced Saturday that they are placing star linebacker Foye Oluokun on injured reserve, ruling him out for at least the next four weeks. Oluokun is dealing with plantar fasciitis and had already been ruled out of this week’s game.
Oluokun had started the first three games of the season, collecting 22 total tackles and a sack. He has been the anchor of Jacksonville’s defense since joining the team in 2022, leading the NFL in total tackles in each of the last three seasons going back to his final year with the Atlanta Falcons.
The Jaguars seemingly cannot catch a break this year. The team is off to an 0-3 start, and rumors about a potential coaching change have already started to fly. There have been problems on both sides of the ball, but they could at least count on Oluokun to stabilize things defensively. Now that will not even be true for the next month.
