Jake Locker suffers hip injury against Jets (GIF)
Jake Locker was having a great start to the season, but his strong year may have been derailed by the New York Jets on Sunday.
Locker was hit in the hip by Jets defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson after delivering an incomplete pass on the Tennessee Titans’ first play of their second drive of the third quarter Sunday. He went to the ground and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher.
The Titans have termed it a hip injury. Former Buffalo Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick replaced Locker in the game.
Prior to the injury, Locker was 18-of-24 for 149 yards, three touchdowns and no picks. He also had 17 rushing yards. Locker had six touchdown passes and no interceptions on the season, and was on his way to leading Tennessee to a 3-1 record. The good news is he did give a thumbs up as he was being carried away:
