Jason Pierre-Paul says fireworks incident ‘not a setback,’ jokes about losing finger
Jason Pierre-Paul addressed his fireworks mishap publicly for the first time on Sunday — more than a month after the accident took place.
The New York Giants defensive end’s sense of humor remains intact.
Pierre-Paul first tweeted about how everything that happens is part of God’s plan. He then cracked a joke about his missing finger.
What happened to me was not a set back. God has greater plans for me. No man can judge me accepted God himself.

The fireworks-induced injury coupled with the fact that Pierre-Paul is still holding out for a new contract has made this an incredibly frustrating offseason for the Giants. He has still given the team no indication of when he plans to return, and there have been rumors that the 26-year-old is waiting until he can pass a physical.
As we saw in these photos, the injury to Pierre-Paul’s hand seemed very severe. No one knows how he will perform with only nine fingers.
