Jed York thought Jim Harbaugh’s coaching staff was too expensive

Jed-York-Fan-ViolenceThe San Francisco 49ers’ decision to get rid of Jim Harbaugh and replace him with Jim Tomsula has worked out terribly for the team.

Harbaugh took the team to the NFC Championship Game three straight seasons before slipping to an 8-8 finish last season. The team has fallen off a cliff this year, going 4-11 in Tomsula’s inaugural campaign.

49ers CEO Jed York is one of the people chiefly behind the decision to get rid of Harbaugh. The two had personality clashes and York supposedly leaked negative stories in the media to undermine the head coach. One other thing that reportedly bothered York was how much Harbaugh’s coaching staff cost.

As he was watching the Niners lose to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, San Jose Mercury News columnist Tim Kawakami dished on how York has ruined the franchise. He shared the tidbit about York’s thoughts concerning Harbaugh’s staff.

Whatever Harbaugh and his staff were paid was worth it. The Niners were contenders under his leadership, and now they’re a joke. The fans know it and are no longer showing up to games. They are calling for York’s job.

At what point will the 49ers act in response?
