Jeff Fisher dismisses report about when Jared Goff will play
Jeff Fisher has dismissed the latest report about when Jared Goff will play for the Rams, no surprise.
On Monday, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport said it was unlikely for Goff, the No. 1 overall draft pick, to play until the Rams fell out of playoff contention. He says the issue is that Goff simply is not ready to play yet. Rapoport did add one caveat, saying Goff was unlikely to play barring a collapse by current starter Case Keenum.
Later on Monday, Fisher said Keenum would remain the team’s starter, while also calling Rapoport’s report inaccurate.
Jeff Fisher says the popular hypothesis that Goff won't play unless the Rams are out of the playoff race is inaccurate.

Fisher also said that Goff nearly played on Sunday in the Rams’ game against the Carolina Panthers after Keenum sustained a forearm injury, which turned out to be a contusion rather than fracture.
Jeff Fisher said there was a chance Rams had to pull Case Keenum yesterday due to a possible forearm fracture. Turned out to be a contusion.

Rams fans are clamoring to see Goff and were chanting for him Sunday. There are two obvious reasons why: everyone wants to see what a player the team traded up to get looks like, and they’re sick of seeing a lackluster offense under Keenum.
