Jets safety Jamal Adams the latest to recruit Antonio Brown to his team

With all the drama surrounding Antonio Brown and the Pittsburgh Steelers, there is a growing belief that the star wide receiver will be playing for a new team at some point this offseason. Players around the league clearly view that as a possibility, and they are trying to do whatever they can to somehow influence where Brown ends up.

On Wednesday, Jets safety Jamal Adams sent a tweet letting Brown know he will be appreciated if he makes his way to New York.

Yo @AB84 NYC will appreciate you!! #JETS

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle beat Adams to it earlier in the week, though the tweet he sent to Brown was a bit more subtle. Brown seemed to appreciate it.

Brown’s not a free agent, so he would either have to be traded or waived by the Steelers. The latter is highly unlikely, but the former does not seem all that farfetched with the way the season ended.

While speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin made it clear that Brown bailed on his teammates before their most important game of the year. Brown appeared to respond with a tweet during Tomlin’s press conference. Tomlin also said Brown really was dealing with a knee injury and refused to go for an MRI, though it sounds like some of Brown’s teammates believe the receiver lied about the injury.

If Brown does get traded, the Steelers probably won’t allow him to pick his destination. You can’t blame guys like Adams for trying, though.
