Jim Nantz caught on camera talking about national anthem protests

Jim-Nantz

NFL on CBS broadcaster Jim Nantz shared some of his thoughts on national anthem protests prior to the Week 4 Thursday night game between the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals. He just didn’t know we could all hear those thoughts.

Nantz was caught on a hot mic saying NFL players who kneel during “The Star-Spangled Banner” are going to keep doing it as long as they have the attention of camera crews.

“They’re gonna keep kneeling as long as we’ve got cameras right in their face,” Nantz said.

While we can’t say for sure, that certainly made it sound like Nantz does not agree with the protests. Furthermore, his comment implied he believes some players are doing it just to gain notoriety.

Protesting the national anthem has been a controversial topic from the moment people realized Colin Kaepernick was doing it. Many people have stood behind Kaepernick and taken up his cause, while others believe not standing at attention during the anthem is disrespectful on a number of different levels. From the way it sounds, Nantz and this NFL owner would have a lot to talk about regarding the protests.
