Most Los Angeles Chargers fans have seen enough of head coach Brandon Staley following Thursday night’s embarrassing loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, but former Pro Bowl offensive lineman Joe Staley wants to remind everyone that he had nothing to do with the performance.

The Chargers lost 63-21 to the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev. Staley was already viewed as being on the hot seat entering the game, and there were countless calls for him to be fired during L.A.’s hapless performance. Joe Staley took some of the heat for it.

Joe sent a funny tweet during “Thursday Night Football” reminding fans that he is “not associated with that mess.”

“Just a public service announcement. I am not currently coaching the Chargers. I am not associated with that mess. Please stop asking for me to be fired,” Joe Staley wrote.

Joe last played in the NFL in 2019. The 6-time Pro Bowl tackle spent 13 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He is not related to Brandon Staley.

As for Brandon, the Chargers may move on in the near future. Though, the coach had a stern response when asked on Thursday night if he believes he should remain in his current position.
