Jordy Nelson expects to play for Packers despite quad injury
Jordy Nelson expects to play on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals despite his quad injury.
The Green Bay Packers star wide receiver left the team’s game against the Falcons last Sunday night with a quad injury suffered in the first quarter. Nelson was back at practice on Wednesday and said he expects to play in Week 3.
“Today it feels a lot better than what it did on Sunday night, so everything is headed in the right direction,” Nelson said, via Packers.com. “My expectations are to play, but you don’t know what can happen between now and then. That was my expectation when I came in here Monday morning as well.”
Nelson had 7 catches for 79 yards and a touchdown in the opener, though he didn’t record any stats against Atlanta. Having him back in the lineup on Sunday would be a big boost for Green Bay’s offense.
