Kareem Hunt apologizes for assaulting woman

Kareem Hunt

Kareem Hunt has spoken out in a statement released on Friday.

The former Kansas City Chiefs running back apologized for his actions, saying he regrets what he did.

“I want to apologize for my actions. I deeply regret what I did. I hope to move on from this,” Hunt said in a statement.

Hunt’s season — and potentially his career — may have come to an end after TMZ Sports published video on Friday that showed the running back pushing and kicking a woman from an incident back in February. The incident was reported at the time, but Hunt was not punished.

After the video was published and widely shared, the NFL and Chiefs reviewed the matter and took action. The league placed Hunt on the commissioner’s exempt list, making him ineligible to play or practice. The Chiefs cut Hunt. Both said they tried to obtain the video but were unable to acquire it.
