There remains little clarity on whether the Philadelphia Eagles will actually trade wide receiver AJ Brown, but some around the league think it will happen.
Multiple sources believe a Brown trade is “inevitable,” according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. The Eagles may wait until after June 1 to do it in order to reduce the cap hit they would take for 2026 by making such a trade.
The New England Patriots remain a favorite to land Brown. The Los Angeles Rams had talks with the Eagles about Brown, but Florio says they have “tapped out” of further talks.
The Patriots have consistently been linked to Brown for a while. His former coach in Tennessee, Mike Vrabel, coaches the team, and Brown has seemingly indicated that he would like to go there. What is less clear is whether the Patriots have the desire to meet the reportedly high asking price the Eagles have put on the wide receiver.
Brown has firmly established himself as one of the top wide receivers in the NFL. He is coming off a down season that saw him catch 78 passes for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns, with his numbers down largely because of Philadelphia’s inconsistent offense.
