Lamar Jackson has strong message for disgruntled gamblers

Lamar Jackson has a message for those who were disappointed with his personal statistics in the Baltimore Ravens’ win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night.

The Ravens dominated the Bills from start to finish in a 35-10 win at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md. Jackson went 13/18 passing for just 158 yards and 2 touchdowns, but that was more than enough on a night where Derrick Henry began the game with an 87-yard touchdown run and finished with 199 rushing yards.

While Jackson also ran for 54 yards and a touchdown, the production through the air was not nearly enough for anyone who placed a prop bet on the quarterback to go over his projected passing total. The over/under for passing yards for Jackson was around 200 yards, which means anyone who bet on the over would have lost money.

On Monday, Jackson made it very, very clear that he does not care about cashing slips for gamblers.

“This is a ‘TEAM’ sport I’m not out here satisfied when I threw for 300yds but took a L. If I throw for 50 yds and we WIN, that’s wtf matters. Yall stop commenting on our socials about the yds yall fan duel or parlays ain’t hit,” Jackson wrote on X.

The majority of casual sports gamblers place parlays that involve player props. A parlay is when you bet on several things to happen and only win your bet if you’re correct with all of them. You typically have to risk less money and have the potential to win a greater amount with a parlay, but they are obviously more difficult to hit.

Jackson may have screwed a bunch of parlays by not throwing for over 200 yards, but he doesn’t want to hear about it. For what it’s worth, not all star athletes share Jackson’s mindset about fans betting on them.
