The Baltimore Ravens have left open the possibility of Mark Andrews returning during the playoffs since the star tight end suffered a serious injury more than two months ago, and it sounds like that is going to happen.

Andrews is expected to play in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. The three-time Pro Bowl pass-catcher was close to suiting up for last week’s win over the Houston Texans, and he is expected to be cleared this week.

Andrews suffered a cracked fibula and ligament damage to his right ankle during Baltimore’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11. He was placed on injured reserve but had his 21-day practice window opened on Jan. 12. He practiced in full last week before being made inactive for Saturday’s game.

Lamar Jackson has leaned on Andrews in big moments over the past several seasons. The tight end had 45 catches for 544 yards and 6 touchdowns before he went down in Week 11. His return should give the Ravens’ passing game a major boost.
