Michael Bennett does not like turkey because of American history
Michael Bennett frequently makes headlines for his off-the-wall comments, and this is no exception.
Bennett was asked Tuesday why he did not join some of his Seattle Seahawks teammates in eating turkey after beating the San Francisco 49ers on Thanksgiving last year. You may recall that Richard Sherman and Russell Wilson sat at a table on the 49ers’ logo at Levi Stadium and enjoyed a turkey feast along with NBC’s Michelle Tafoya after the Seahawks’ 19-3 win.
Bennett had a pretty incredible — and honorable — response and explanation:
Asked why he didn't eat turkey at Levi's field last year, Michael Bennett said he doesn't like turkey b/c of "what happened to the Indians."

Of course, one minute earlier Bennett said "turkey's good (when) you put some hot sauce on it," so it's hard to tell what to believe.

Given what 49ers reporter Matt Barrows said about Bennett putting hot sauce on turkey, we might not be able to take the Seahawks defender at his word, but his sentiment is appreciated.
Bennett’s answer should not come at a surprise, either. Anyone who is willing to openly call out his billionaire boss on national TV clearly has some gumption.
