Mike Wallace frustrated by lack of targets

Baltimore Ravens wideout Mike Wallace has seen a grand total of four targets through his first two games in 2017, and that clearly doesn’t sit well with him.

Speaking with reporters Wednesday, Wallace addressed his limited workload.

“Of course,” said the former Pro Bowler when asked if there was a level of frustration, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN. “I play wide receiver. I don’t play to block. But at the same time, when you’re winning, it makes it all good. It’s always masked when you’re winning. As long as we’re winning, we’re good. I’m going to find ways to make plays. I will make plays.”

Wallace would also go on to say multiple times that he “needs the rock.”

The 31-year-old Wallace has pulled down two of those four targets so far this season for 15 yards. That’s a tough pill to swallow for a player who has topped 1,000 yards receiving thrice in his career, including last year with Baltimore.

Granted, the Ravens have won both games to open the season, as Wallace alluded to. But the veteran receiver is known to sound off when he feels he is not being utilized properly, and the situation this time around is no different.
