Minkah Fitzpatrick traded by Dolphins to Steelers for first-round pick
The Miami Dolphins have found a trade partner for Minkah Fitzpatrick.
The Dolphins are trading Fitzpatrick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a 2020 first-round pick, ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported.
Steelers are getting: Fitzpatrick, 2020 fourth-round pick, 2021 seventh-round pick
Dolphins get: 2020 first-round pick, 2020 fifth-round pick, 2021 sixth-round pick.
Fitzpatrick made several mistakes in the Dolphins’ Week 1 59-10 ugly loss against Baltimore and then called out his coaches. He has been unhappy with the way he was used; he was asked to play several positions. The Dolphins were said to have allowed Fitzpatrick’s representatives permission to seek a trade and were looking for a first-round pick in return. They got it from Pittsburgh.
One has to wonder about Pittsburgh’s motivation. They are 0-2, look bad this year, and Ben Roethlisberger is out for the season. They could end up with a high draft pick next year and instead have turned it away for Fitzpatrick, who was the No. 11 pick last year.
